Breaking Barriers: How South Asian Attorneys Have Shaped U.S. Policy

South Asian attorneys in the United States are significantly increasing in numbers and have made great strides in occupying top legal positions in government, education and business. As a result of obtaining these positions, South Asians have had a prominent role in shaping U.S. governmental policy, both foreign and domestic. This panel will examine the manner in which South Asian attorneys can, and continue, to influence legislation and policy in the United States. How can South Asian attorneys make the transition from an attorney position into an influential public policy role? What are the challenges that face South Asian attorneys in entering this sphere?
